As most of you will now know Chris Cousins our Pro will be leaving on the

13^th Feb. to take up an appointment as Pro at Helsby Golf Club in Cheshire.

Chris has been very pleasant and helpful, I am sure we will all miss him.

On behalf of the members club, I would like to thank him, and to wish him

all the best in his new venture.

Thanks to all those who played in the Adult/Junior golf competition on Saturday 26th November. Unfortunately the competition had to be abandoned due to heavy rain and gale force winds. A special mention must go to teams Jeffery and Renwick, who reached the 5th hole despite some of the worst golfing conditions I have ever seen. Details of the rearranged competition are as follows:

Adult/Junior Competition
Saturday 10th December
6 holes
U-13′s red tees
U-8′s blue tees
Entry fee £1 per pair
Juniors play until the ball has crossed the white markers 25yds short of the green, the adult then finishes the hole
Tee off times available between 13:30 and 14:30

Any adult can play (no experience required), if anyone doesn’t have equipment please just let me know and some can be provided. As for the junior winter league, the next competition will be next Saturday 3rd December, tee off times between 13:30 and 14:30. All the start sheets are up on the junior notice board. If anyone would like a tee time please put your name down on the sheet or let me know via:

Under 13’s play 6 holes from the red tees
Under 8’s play 3 holes from the blue tees

We ask that all players under 8 years old are accompanied by an adult. There is an entry fee for each competition of 50p per player which goes towards prizes on the day. Each competition is an individual strokeplay competition.

There will be a start sheet for each competition placed on the junior notice board. All players MUST put their name on the sheet in advance if they wish to play. The start sheet will be put up 1 week prior to each competition.

There are prizes on the day of each competition, along with prizes for the overall winners of the league. For the U-13’s league, the best 6 scores from the league will be used, for the U-8’s, the best 4 scores will be used. An average will be taken, the winners of each division being the players with the best average.
All juniors will play off a club handicap, based on either 3 holes (U-8’s) or 6 holes (U-13’s). The following handicap system will apply following each competition:

For every shot under par a player’s handicap is reduced by 0.5 shots
If a player scores over the par their handicap goes up 1.0 shots

Adjustments to player’s handicaps, along with results and league standings, will be posted on the junior notice board and on the website following each competition.

The prize presetation will be held in November, details TBA.
Junior Monday Night League 2011 Format

The Junior Monday Night League will run on Monday evenings from Monday 4th April (1st competition) until Monday 26th September (last competition). There will be no competitions held on Bank Holidays. There are two divisions:

Under 13’s – Play 6 holes from the red tees
Under 8’s – Play 6 holes from the blue tees
