Holes 7-12

Hole 7

A super driving hole. A drive anywhere on the fairway here gives you a good shot into the green. Once you have got your breath back from the walk make sure you take an extra club for your second as its all uphill and the 3 bunkers short of the green are just waiting for your ball.

Hole 8

A little respite! A straightforward par 3, provided that you select the right club and put the ball on the green. It is easy to bale out on the high side to the right but the ball is unlikely to kick down as close to the flag as you might expect because the green is slightly raised. Avoid the left of the green because the ground drops away steeply and there is also a bunker to contend with.

Hole 9

A splendid hole featuring a pretty little pond on the corner of the dog-leg and several mature trees lining the fairway but fully deserving of it’s stroke index 1. A drive down the left side of the fairway and as close to the ditch as you dare will leave you the best possible shot to a well guarded green.

Hole 10

Our signature hole. A beautiful looking hole but be warned, anything short will be gobbled up by the pond. Take an extra club and aim for the right half of the green. Subtle contours on the green and two adjacent bunkers complete the challenge.

Hole 11

The brave, the strong and the long hitters will fancy this. A long drive down the left hand side, as close to the out of bounds as you dare, which will leave you the shortest possible shot into the green. For those who cannot reach in two then play over the marker post to give you the best route into the raised green avoiding the two trees that split the fairway. Again, take an extra club as anything short will roll back to the bottom of the hill or get swallowed up by the two pot bunkers.

Hole 12

This should be the easiest hole on the course from the yellow tees because a respectable drive up the fairway leaves only a short iron to a green which is bunkered to the left. However the competition tee offers a much more daunting drive because you must carry a small valley and aim accurately through a gap in the trees. A fairly straightforward par 4. The tee elevation will tempt you to go for the big drive but with trees left and right it pays to hit the fairway. Anything long or left with your second leaves a tricky chip.
