Officials

Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls…Welcome to your 2017 Club Officials!

President – Cath Halstead

Cath (1 of 1)I have been a member of BGC for a number of years and people always expect you to know who they are and what they do – but the point being we don’t need to know, we are all friends and any strangers we have yet to meet, I look forward to it.On that point – I should introduce myself….

I have lived in Wray most of my life and having played golf at Bentham for a few decades now I have seen many changes in the Course, the Clubhouse and the Members in this time.

The significant points of my resume to keep it brief – I have served for 22 years with the TA and worked for Reebok for 15 years in various roles and now run my own business called Made In Wray. There is more about travelling the world for 12 months, being put under house arrest and have Interpol looking for me & working as a checkout chick but those and other stories are for another time and place….

Captain – Jez MossMens_Captain

My name is Jeremy Moss but I am more often know as known as Jez and I am delighted to be your captain for the 2017 season.

I have been a member of Bentham for 9 years now, and my twin children, Lucy & Alex, have been members with me for 7 of those years. My wife Tracey has recently joined the club through it’s Get into Golf programme so now the who family are involved.

I look forward to being your Captain in 2017 and welcome the fun and frivolities that come with it.  Good luck to you all for the coming season and I look forward to catching up with you all in the clubhouse.’

Lady Captain – Carole Capstick

Carole Capstick - Lady Vice‘I was born & bred in Ingleton and have been married to Nev for 37 years, we have 2 children Laura & Nathan and I work in Bentham as an Accountants assistant.I first picked up a golf club in 2006, and joined BGC in 2007, golf definitely got a hold on me.  I love it.

There are good times and bad, but I keep soldiering on. Any ladies who fancy trying golf come along on a Tuesday at 11 am, we are a  very friendly bunch, who will make you most welcome, the social side is good, and a great way to make new friends.

I would like to wish everyone at BGC all the best for the 2017 golfing season.’

Vice Captain – Tom Beanlands

4P9A0094‘I’ve lived up in the dales for 1/2 of my 26 years on earth and I first joined Bentham Golf Club when I was about 15. I’ve been lucky enough to travel and see a lot of the world, I’ve also been lucky enough to play a lot of golf on a lot of nice courses and after 11 years since I first picked up a golf club I find myself cemented in the area, playing golf at Bentham, still enjoying the views whether it’s a bad round or a good round with no plans to be anywhere else. That says a lot about this area and what the people here have to offer.

This course means a lot to me and has changed a lot since I first joined, we should all be thankful for every round of golf we play and take full advantage of what we’ve been offered at this great club.’
