Juniors

The junior section this year will be run by the Junior Committee guided by our Past President, Mr Tom Guy. The Junior Captain for 2008 is Shaun Earl.

Sponsored by the Club and with the assistance of enthusiastic volunteers, we are continuing the highly successful junior coaching evenings.  These begin on Monday 31st March and continue each Monday until 15th September.  The Professional, Alan Watson will be on hand at each session helping juniors with their golf.

The evenings are based on the excellent Golf Foundation Passport scheme. This is a structured learning programme that involves set attainment targets to help create the key elements of fun, enjoyment and motivation. The passport serves to provide each child with a record of achievement which catalogues their progress within the game as they develop their skills. This takes the junior from beginner through to achieving their first golf handicap.

We currently have a team in the Cumbria Junior League and many of our players have successfully represented Bentham GC in a number of competitions. Junior and Junior/Senior events are also run throughout the year.
